On Friday night, I performed at a ‘roast’ for Dr Shepherd, former AMA President.
It was a glitsy night with a celebrity mix of social commentators, politicians and doctors. My spot on stage followed an introduction from John Mangos (popular TV newsman), Allan Jones (social commentator and talkback host), Dr Brendan Nelson (former Federal Opposition Leader) and Dr John D’Arcy (well known TV doctor).
It can be a daunting task following such well known people, but I speed painted two great portraits in about 10 minutes (Bono took 3 mins - Dr Shepherd took 7 mins) which sold for $11,500
I’m adding more and more ‘magic’ to my shows where I can these days.
As a performer it feels like I’m breaking new ground and I’ve now made half a dozen art / illusions. They will all be combined in a new las-vegas type show that I am putting together.
After going to Vegas earlier this year and witnessing a bunch of shows, my number 1 goal for the coming 12 months is to put together an extraordinary act, that is truly Vegas worthy.
Magicians will notice a common prop used in this painting! Ok, enough chat.. here is the Sinatra Illusion.
Here are some video still images from the BMW Z4 launch in Melbourne last weekend.
I speed painted my way through 3 different angles of the car - all in under 4 minutes each car and used some theatrics during the show - fire revealed the trademark BMW grill and tyres. Not sure if anyone noticed, but I added my own touch to the number plates.
Oh and I just received this email:
“It was a pleasure to work with you last Saturday. We were all very pleased with the way everything went and your participation in our launch helped make it a success.”
